Stock Market Soars Above 30,000 with News about Biden's Transition Ramping Up, and Trump is Attempting to Take the Credit
It now appears that Joe Biden's transition into power will move swiftly and smoothly through the process. One of the most notable reactions came from Wall Street. The Stock Market rose above 30,000 for the first time, displaying confidence in the abilities of a new administration.
However, Trump acted as expected. He held a one-minute news conference today attempting to take credit for the rise in the Market.
“The stock market’s just broken 30,000 — never been broken, that number. That’s a sacred number, 30,000, and nobody thought they’d ever see it,” Trump said.
“I just want to congratulate all the people within the administration that worked so hard, and most importantly I want to congratulate the people of our country, because there are no people like you. Thank you very much, everybody. Thank you.”
In an ironic manner, he should receive some of the credit. His failures as your illegitimate president inspired a record turnout which resulted in a loss of about six million ballots in the popular vote. Trump's incompetence and racist beliefs encouraged voters to remove him from the White House.
Trump will never be forgotten. How most Americans remember him will become his legacy. For most, we will remember that he refused to be an American president who recognized that he had a responsibility to represent all Americans. We will remember that he admitted to being the leader of white supremacy in America. The very fact that he is a self-admitted sexual predator should have prevented him from being elected. We learned in the first months of his illegitimate presidency that he is a malignant narcissist with a low level of intelligence preventing him from performing his duties. And we will remember that he spent more time on a golf course or watching television than in the Oval Office.
What we will never be able to forgive is that he, in collusion with Fox News, divided our nation's people to a degree not seen since the Civil War.
I do not envy Joe Biden and Kamala Harris. They will began their first term facing more internal problems than Barrack Obama did in 2009. Unlike their predecessors, they will be working long hours and long weeks to return our nation and our government to a society which functions in the way our founding fathers intended.
Finally, I will be thrilled to see Steve Mnuchin, Wilbur Ross, Betsy DeVos, William Barr, Mike Pompeo removed from their positions.
Now my hope is that both Democrats win in Georgia, and Moscow Mitch McConnell loses his position of power.
