I Thought it was Impossible, but Cruz and his Fellow Fascists are Displaying a Lower Level of Hypocrisy than I Believed Possible

 

In February of 2016, months before the November election, President Obama nominated Merrick Garland for the seat on the Supreme Court vacated by the sudden death of Antonin Scalia. Judge Garland was a moderate, and well-respected by both Democrats and Republicans. However, the worst senator in American history, Majority Leader Mitch McConnell, refused to allow hearings in the senate as required by the Constitution. He made the fallacious claim that the people, with their vote in November, should indicate who should become the new justice.

Move forward to September of 2020. An American icon, Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg, lost her battle with cancer. Although there were just weeks left until the election, Trump ordered Moscow Mitch to hurry and force the nomination of Amy Coney Barrett through the senate. This was the third justice appointed to the SCOTUS by Trump. Not one of them was qualified. Each had demonstrated bias and a refusal to use the Constitution as the ultimate guide for their decisions.

When Moscow Mitch, Ted Cruz, and others were asked why they were not waiting until after the election to hold hearings for Barrett, and why they were not following their own rule that a justice must not be appointed during an election year, they displayed a level of hypocrisy unheard of in American history.

After Trump's illegitimate election, he nominated the least qualified group of millionaires and billionaires for his cabinet ever seen in Washington. Moscow Mitch and his puppets refused to conscientiously vet any of them, and our nation ended up having the most corrupt and incompetent administration in 240+ years.

Ted Cruz, known as the worst senator in Washington, made this outrageous and un-American comment on Thursday.

The Senate simply won't be moving to confirm any of Biden's Cabinet picks, or even hold hearings on them, anytime in the near future. "As long as there's litigation ongoing, and the election result is disputed, I do not think you will see the Senate act to confirm any nominee," he told Axios. Given that noted delusionist Donald Trump will be "disputing" the results of the election from now until the day he is tucked into his mausoleum, we can presume from this that the Senate will refuse to hold confirmation hearings for Biden's nominees until at least Jan. 20—meaning that Biden will take office with no national security, intelligence, justice, or pandemic heads in place. It takes little imagination to suppose that corrupt Republicans will continue to cast doubt on the election results for weeks or months after that, meaning there is a nontrivial chance that Cruz and allies will claim the controversy nullifies Biden’s ability to appoint any Senate-confirmable government heads indefinitely.

Republicans are unfit to hold office at any level, and Moscow Mitch is the reason our government is now dysfunctional. There is no dispute about the election. Every court in the land has thrown out Trump's fantasies, and all 50 states have now certified the results of the election. However, Republican hypocrites are aligned with Trump's fascist efforts.

Here's the truth. If you vote for any Republican in federal elections, you are a traitor to your family, friends, and yourself. They do not care about the American people, they serve special interests.

In 1981 the once Grand Old Party began to implode. Under Trump's fascist regime it no longer exists. The last real Republican exited the Capitol when Arizona Senator John McCain lost his own battle with cancer. This group is a bunch of fascist impostors who have become the enemy of the working class, and the Constitution they swore to “preserve and protect.”
