Turn out the Lights, the Party's over, and the Fat Lady has Sung
Ken Paxton, the attorney general of Texas, and legislatures in 18 other red states who were joined by 106 Republican Representatives in the House have lost their last effort to murder democracy and replace it with a fascist government. Trump's last unconstitutional effort to subvert the 2020 election has failed and he will be evicted from the White House at noon on January 20, 2021.
Trump — and Republicans across the country — had pinned their hopes on the Texas suit, with Trump himself intervening. In a series of tweets, the president called it “the big one” and later added, “it is very strong, ALL CRITERIA MET.”
Every significant official in Washington and battleground states stated that their was no evidence of massive fraud. In fact Trump's own official designated to oversee the election claimed that the 2020 election “was the most secure in history.” Trump's personal attorney, Attorney General William Barr, confirmed Chris Krebs' statement saying that there was no evidence of illegal interference in the election.
Trump appointed three ultra-conservative, right-wing biased Supreme Court justices in his four long years in office. His hopes to overturn the 2020 election were based on this fact. His last hope has been crushed as the decision, although not reported, was apparently unanimous to reject the baseless lawsuit filed by the Texas attorney general.
Recent revelations about Paxton's legal problems offer a different side to his failed effort to have the SCOTUS hear his baseless case. He is under indictment for previous allegations and is facing others for bribery. He is begging for another of Trump's infamous pardons. He wouldn't be the first felon Trump sent back to our nation's streets.
Although there was little doubt that the Court would refuse to waste their time hearing the case, the last four years have been so despicable, filled with Constitutional violations, nothing would have been a huge surprise.
The truth is that it was Trump who attempted to rig the election with conspiracy theories and lies. He was soundly defeated and will be remembered as the worst one-term president in history. No president has ever been hated as universally as Donald John Trump. Only his supporters who shared his beliefs in white supremacy and bigotry continued to support him.
The truth is that our national nightmare will be over soon. Trump's goal was to destroy our nation and divide it for decades to come. He succeeded in most of his ambitions, but real Americans will save our nation. Joe Biden and Kamala Harris will work hard to restore the dreams of our founding fathers and the respect it once had throughout the free world. Trump's legacy will be detailed by historians. He will be remembered as not only the worst president in history but as a man who would serve the demands of the leader of another nation. His subservience to Vladimir Putin, which began in 1987, will prove that Donald John Trump is the greatest traitor to America in its history.
His many conversations with the Russian president during his only term in office are a preponderance of circumstantial evidence that he is a Russian agent whose duty was to destroy our nation.
Trump and his party must be punished for their treason directed at the American people. In the near future, the truth will become known to the people of the world.
